A healthcare provider in London is seeking a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join their mental health unit. This role involves providing client-centred care to service users, developing holistic frameworks, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. We are looking for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist (OT) to join the Hammersmith and Fulham Mental Health Unit Occupational Therapy team. The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and will have the opportunity to develop the OT role, with regular supervision and training provided. The OT team is part of a wider AHP group within West London NHS Trust, offering connections with peers, AHP Forum and regular training and events.

Qualifications (essential): BSc (Hons) or equivalent Occupational Therapy qualification; HCPC Registration.
Experience (essential): Application of core OT skills and OT process; multidisciplinary team working; typically achieved Band 5 sub-set KSF through a 12-month preceptorship.
Desirable: Experience of working in mental health; involvement in research and clinical audit; experience supervising students and staff.
Knowledge (essential): Mental health diagnoses/presentations; core OT process; research methodology; models of practice; group work theory and practice; clinical and environmental risk; equality and diversity; principles of clinical governance. Desirable: clinical/case supervision training; knowledge of current legislation including NICE guidelines, CPA, risk assessment and risk management; practice placement education training.
Skills (essential): Effective written and verbal communication; group work skills; organisational ability; ability to build rapport with service users, carers and colleagues; evidence of OT assessment, treatment planning, intervention and evaluation; use of standardised assessments and outcome measures; ability to work independently and as part of a team; computer literacy. Desirable: ability to apply research-based practice; supervisory skills; ability to present at study days and conferences; contribution to service development and training of others; ability to reflect and critically appraise own performance.
