Overview

Band 5 Civilian Dental Hygienist – Defence Primary Healthcare

The closing date is 13 October 2025.

Roles offer 37.5 hours per week with the possibility to consider flexible working requests, subject to business needs and annual review. Salary is pro-rata for part-time hours. Main duties of the job

Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) provides a clinical service in accordance with NHS Standards and MoD policies. You will primarily provide dental treatment, oral hygiene instruction and education, administration, supporting force generation and operational capability, and minimising dental morbidity on operations. You may also provide clinical and administrative support for dental care at other DPHC sites or health fairs if requested.

Person Specification
Experience
  • A full UK driving licence to enable working from other local military dental centres, if required.
  • Evidence of current practice as a registered dental hygienist.
  • Evidence of indemnity cover for general dental practice (personal professional indemnity strongly encouraged).
  • Evidence of currency with GDC Continuing Professional Development requirements.
  • Confidence in using Information Technology.

  • Provide your GDC registration number.
  • Indicate if you are nearing completion of your qualification and understand you will need GDC membership prior to starting.
  • Include details of any current, spent or impending restrictions to practice.
