Overview

Job Title: Band 5 Biomedical Scientist – Histopathology Team

Job Purpose: To support diagnostic and laboratory services within the Histopathology department. To deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality laboratory work that contributes directly to patient diagnosis and care. To work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary pathology team in line with professional and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform embedding, microtomy, and associated quality control procedures
• Prepare, assess, and process histopathology samples to a high standard for diagnostic purposes
• Maintain accurate documentation, records, and reporting in line with laboratory protocols
• Work closely with colleagues to ensure efficient workflow and turnaround times
