A major UK healthcare provider is seeking a skilled professional to assist in the Sterile Production Unit. The successful candidate will support the Chief Technician and Senior Technicians, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice while training less experienced staff. The role involves rotation among different teams features responsibilities such as aseptic preparation and maintaining personal expertise. Generous benefits and career opportunities available.
The post holder is to assist the Chief Technician and Senior Technicians in the day to day running of the Sterile Production Unit, the Central Intravenous Additive Service (CIVAS) and the Non‑Sterile Manufacturing Department and the training of less experienced staff working in the units.
The department is split into four teams: Sterile Batches, Chemotherapy, Non‑Sterile and CIVAS. The post holder will be a member of one of these and will rotate between teams as required. This post holder’s responsibility is to ensure that all products made are manufactured in accordance with the principles of Good Manufacturing Practice, COSHH and Health and Safety Directives.
The post holder will be expected to deputise for the Senior Technician in each area in his / her absence.
The post holder is expected to develop and maintain personal expertise in all technical aspects of manufacture and extemporaneous preparation undertaken within the production unit at The Royal Free Hospital, in particular aseptic preparation. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring his/her own accreditations are completed and re‑validated within the agreed time frames.
