Band 3 Senior Healthcare Assistant Support Worker

We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking healthcare support worker to join the team and support the Unit Manager in the delivery of care to our Kidney and Urology Outpatients Unit patients.

Overview

The Senior Healthcare Assistant will assist with the induction, supervision and training and development of Band 2 Nursing Assistants and student nurses under the supervision of a registered nurse. They will undertake both routine and specially identified tasks for which they have been trained and assessed as competent, and may undertake tasks delegated by the nurse in charge in accordance with relevant procedures, guidelines and policies.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Unit Manager in the delivery of care to Kidney and Urology Outpatients Unit patients.
  • Assist with induction, supervision and training and development of Band 2 Nursing Assistants and student nurses under supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Undertake routine and specially identified tasks delegated by the nurse in charge and in accordance with relevant procedures, guidelines and policies.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience of working with patients in a hospital environment.
  • Customer care experience.
Working Arrangements
  • Unit operates Monday to Friday 08:00 to 18:00; post holder to work 5 days per week.
  • Not suitable for candidates seeking weekend or night working hours.
Development

There is an opportunity to develop within the role and undertake further training and development.
