The NHS Legal Services Directorate is looking for dedicated, detail‑oriented professionals to join our team in 2026. This is your opportunity to play a key part in delivering expert legal support across the NHS.

Location: Belfast City Centre
Rate of pay: £12.31 per hour
Monday to Friday 9am until 5pm

About the Role

As a valued member of our Legal Services team, you'll work closely with Line Managers and Solicitors, providing vital support across a wide range of legal matters. From preparing documentation and liaising with clients to assisting with court proceedings and maintaining legal records, your role will help ensure that healthcare providers receive timely and effective legal assistance.

What You'll Do
  • Prepare legal documentation, pleadings, and instructions under supervision.
  • Liaise with Solicitors, Line Managers, and Trust personnel to gather and manage case materials.
  • Support the preparation and analysis of statistics and maintain the Legal Information System.
  • Assist in preparing briefs for Counsel and coordinate court attendance for witnesses and staff.
  • Ensure referrals and instructions are managed efficiently and professionally.
  • Contribute to team development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues across the NHS.
  • Cover post and court‑run duties where required.
