Overview

A Backend Software Engineer is required for this permanent role with my fintech client. The candidate will help to develop and improve the Back End applications, ensuring they are user friendly and high performing web applications. They will also write well documented code, diagnose and resolve system issues and attend review meetings.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years experience developing back-end systems in a production environment.
• 4+ years experience using Python and Django.
• Strong SQL database experience.
• Experience with CI/CD.
• Experience with REST APIs.
• Ideally knowledge of AI-driven coding assistants like Cursor or GitHub CoPilot (not essential).

Location & Compensation

This is a permanent role and will require 1 day a week in the office in either London or Sheffield (some flexibility).

Base salary: c£55-65K per year and a good package.
