On behalf of Tesco IMS, AMS is looking for a AWS Engineer for a 6 month contract, offered under a remote working arrangement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of greenfield AWS environments, ensuring scalability, resilience, and security from the ground up.
• Build and maintain regulated cloud services aligned with industry compliance standards (e.g., ISO, SOC, GDPR, HIPAA).
• Develop infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation, ensuring repeatable and auditable deployments.
• Architect solutions following the AWS Well-Architected Framework, emphasizing operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, and cost optimisation.
• Design and manage AWS networking services including VPCs, Transit Gateways, Direct Connect, Route 53, and VPNs.
• Collaborate with security, compliance, and DevOps teams to ensure end-to-end governance and automation.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.

Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience in complex greenfield AWS builds.
• Strong background in regulated environments and compliance-driven cloud architecture.
• Hands on expertise with AWS CloudFormation and infrastructure-as-code principles.
• Deep understanding of AWS networking services and architecture patterns.
• Familiarity with security best practices, IAM policies, and encryption strategies.
• Experience applying the AWS Well-Architected Framework in real world projects.
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
