Are you an experienced Automatic Door Engineer looking for a role with excellent structure, reliable planning and strong earning potential? Do you want a job where you know your schedule in advance, work with high‑quality kit and spend more time fixing doors than sitting in traffic?

Our client is seeking a skilled Automatic Door Engineer to join their growing field team.

You’ll work across London and the South, completing installations, servicing and repairs on a wide range of automatic door systems. Any additional exposure to gates, industrial doors, roller shutters or barriers would also be highly advantageous.

Job Description
  • Install, service and maintain a wide range of commercial automatic door systems.
  • Conduct fault‑finding, repairs and upgrades in line with industry standards.
  • Deliver professional customer service, liaising with clients to arrange and complete work safely and efficiently.
  • Produce accurate job reports, RAMS documentation and follow safe working practices.
  • Maintain company vehicle, stock levels and equipment to required standards.
  • Participate in the 1‑in‑12 call‑out rota to support out‑of‑hours requirements.
Person Specification
  • Essential:
  • Strong experience working with automatic doors – installation, repairs and planned maintenance.
  • Excellent fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a field‑based role.
  • Strong awareness of health & safety and safe working procedures.
  • Confident communicator with good customer‑facing capabilities.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Desirable:
  • ADSA or BS EN16005 certification.
  • Experience with gates, industrial doors, roller shutters, barriers or access control systems.
  • Experience in commercial or high‑security environments.
  • Competence in minor associated fabric works following installations.
Salary, Package & Benefits
  • £22‑£24/hr (£45‑50K basic) for a 40‑hour week, paid door‑to‑door.
  • Overtime: 1.5x (evenings) and 2x (overnights/weekends).
  • £250 call‑out bonus on a 1‑in‑12 rota.
  • Van with personal use, full kit, laptop and fuel card.
