Contract: Term-time only Full-time

Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in a child's life? We are seeking a caring, skilled and proactive Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a Year 2 pupil in our welcoming mainstream primary school in Gillingham. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive team dedicated to creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment for all children.

About the Role
  • Provide tailored 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with autism, helping them to access learning and thrive socially and emotionally
  • Use autism-informed strategies to scaffold communication, emotional regulation and independence
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo and external professionals to follow personalised support plans
  • Promote a positive, calm and structured environment where the pupil can succeed
  • Contribute to wider classroom activities as needed
About You
  • Experienced in supporting children with autism (school-based experience preferred)
  • Patient, compassionate and able to build trusting relationships
  • Knowledgeable about sensory needs, communication approaches and regulation strategies
  • Able to use initiative as well as work well within a team
  • Committed to inclusive practice and helping children achieve their potential
