Qualifications

Mid to Senior level. 6-month fixed-term contract. Fully remote in the UK available.

Wushu Studios is seeking a skilled Audio Designer to enhance the immersive experience of our upcoming AAA titles. You will be responsible for creating and implementing high-quality audio assets that align with the creative vision of the game.

Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of certain game features such as Weapons, Abilities etc.
  • Working closely with the Audio and Design teams to ensure audio meet the intended vision, mechanics, narrative and quality.
  • Create and implement high quality audio assets within the game engine, ensuring optimal performance across all platforms.
  • Conduct audio testing and iteration based on feedback, ensuring that the final output meets the project’s quality standards.
  • Maintain an organised library of sound assets and documentation for audio workflows.
  • Maintain a prioritised backlog with production.
  • Adhere to the client’s audio guidelines and practices.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as an Audio Designer or a similar role in the gaming industry.
  • Strong proficiency with digital audio workstations (DAWs) and sound design tools (e.g., Pro Tools, Wwise, FMOD, Reaper).
  • In-depth understanding of audio processing techniques and best practices for game audio integration.
  • Ability to create compelling soundscapes that enhance player immersion. An interest or talent for weapon audio would be a plus!
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • A portfolio showcasing a range of audio work effectively representing your skills in sound design and implementation.
  • Experience with adaptive audio systems and implementation within game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity).
