About the school

Northfield School is a large 11-16 community school and specialist sports college. We are an ambitious and inclusive school with state-of-the-art facilities and interactive technology in a well-resourced newly refurbished main building, a newly built separate Year 7 school, and extensive sports facilities shared with the community.

To continue the school’s drive to improve pupil attendance by further increasing capacity in this area, we wish to appoint an enthusiastic, suitably qualified, proactive and professional colleague to join our attendance team in the role of an attendance support officer.

Main duties and responsibilities
  • Work proactively to make positive relationships with individual and groups of pupils and their families, in collaboration with the Attendance Manager and Guidance Teams to improve the attendance of those pupils who are persistently absent, particularly those who are disadvantaged.
  • A significant amount of the working day will involve home visits and knocking on doors to help pupils get into school.

Following an inspection in February 2023, Ofsted judged the school to be good in all areas. This is a great time to join the school and a fantastic opportunity for the right colleague to make a real difference to the life chances of our young people.

What we can offer
  • an enthusiastic, talented and supportive team
  • a newly built and superbly resourced teaching and learning environment
  • excellent opportunities for CPD
  • a staff health and well-being programme
  • a warm, friendly and positive working environment where everyone is valued
