What skills and experience we're looking for

The successful candidate will have:

  • experience of co-ordinating and delivering activities to improve pupil attendance
  • knowledge of statutory guidance to support the implementation of policies, systems and strategies to ensure pupils attend school regularly
  • experience of maintaining accurate attendance information and analysis of data to identify pupils at risk of persistent absence
  • experience of working with families to encourage positive home / school links
  • an understanding of how to offer practical help and emotional support to families experiencing short or long-term difficulties
  • experience of liaising with a wide range of agencies to keep children safe, and an understanding of safeguarding them
  • the ability to undertake the travel requirement of this role
