The Role?

We are currently seeking a Sustainability Associate to join our team at our London office. This is a permanent role offering an excellent career path within a forward-thinking and innovative consultancy.

You will work within a team of Sustainability Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, and CAD Technicians, contributing to a broad range of projects across multiple sectors, including Commercial, Civic & Cultural, Healthcare, and Education.

You will have the technical knowledge to deliver Energy and Sustainability requirements for projects in London and throughout the UK. You will also play a key role in mentoring junior staff and contributing to IN2's growing reputation in sustainable building design.

Your Experience?

  • Degree in Building Services Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience, ideally within a consultancy environment.
  • Chartered Engineer or actively working towards Chartership.
  • Expertise in Energy and Sustainability services, including:
    • Energy Strategies & Sustainability Statements
    • Detailed Thermal Modelling
    • Part L Modelling & Peak Load Analysis
    • TM54 & TM59 Modelling
    • Assessment Methods such as BREEAM, WELL, Whole Life Carbon Analysis
  • Strong proficiency in simulation tools, airflow modelling, and daylight/sunlight analysis.
  • Experience in project delivery from concept stage to completion.
  • Ability to present and communicate ideas effectively with clients, architects, and project managers.
  • A passion for mentoring and developing junior engineers within a dynamic team environment.
The Key Activities
  • Act as Project Engineer, delivering high-performance environmental design solutions.
  • Develop project scope with the design team and clients, including budgeting and reporting.
  • Lead the implementation of sustainable design strategies across projects.
  • Oversee Resource Management and Planning to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Provide mentoring and technical support to junior engineering staff.
  • Support the Management Team with business development and financial control activities.
