Job description

Overview

Due to team expansion, we have a newly created vacancy for a Solicitor 10+ PQE with a background in Safety, Health and Environment work to join a well-established regulation team. The team handles high profile cases and investigations on behalf of individuals and organisations facing criminal investigations for corporate manslaughter, gross negligence manslaughter and breaches of regulatory law related to health and safety, fire safety, food safety and environmental law.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied case load covering both contentious and non-contentious regulatory work
• Act as a point of contact for clients, demonstrating a level of knowledge and skill commensurate with experience.
• Assist with business development activities including marketing and training events
• Assume responsibility for quality control and benchmark compliance

Qualifications

You will have at c 10 PQE with experience gained within a regulatory and / or commercially focused environment. You will be capable of advising on regulatory work including - HSE/Police investigations, witness interviews, interviews under caution, prosecutions, sentencing hearings and inquests. Experience of areas such as environmental breaches, trading standards, product safety, food safety and fire safety would also be of interest. Applicants must have excellent legal drafting and technical skills.
