Two Associate Professorships or Professorships of Computer Science (with Tutorial Fellowships)

Salary on the Associate Professor Scale (plus substantial benefits including college housing allowance).

As part of our expansion, the Department of Computer Science at the University of Oxford is seeking to appoint two full-time Associate Professors or Professors of Computer Science to start on 1 September 2026.

Each post is associated with a Tutorial Fellowship at Brasenose College or Wadham College. Duties will include undertaking original research in Computer Science, securing funding to support the Department's research activities, together with teaching and supervision responsibilities for the Department of Computer Science and the College, and Trustee duties (as a member of the Governing Body) at the College.

The University of Oxford uses the grade of Associate Professor for most of its academic appointments. Appointments to Associate can include those at the start of their careers directly from PhD, as well as more established researchers.

Appointment details

The posts are full-time and start on 1 September 2026. Each post is associated with a Tutorial Fellowship at Brasenose College or Wadham College.

The closing date for applications is 12 noon on 17 December 2025. Shortlisted candidates will first present research talks online on 17–18 February 2026 and teaching presentations online on 24–25 February 2026. Interviews will be held in person, at the Department in Oxford (Brasenose College on 17 March 2026 and Wadham College on 18 March 2026).

Salary: ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR (TF-UNIVERSITY) with a combined salary of £57,986 – £77,366 plus substantial additional benefits.
