Salary and Benefits

Salary is up to £25 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Hours per Week

14.8 hours per week

Contract Type

Sessional – Hourly Paid

About the Role

We are currently seeking an Associate Lecturer in Computing to join our Computing & Digital Technologies department at The Bedford College Group.

As an Associate Lecturer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching & Delivery – Deliver high‑quality, engaging teaching, learning and assessment across Level 1‑3 Computing programmes, including T Levels, using practical and industry‑relevant approaches.
  • Specialist Computing Expertise – Teach programming, computer science and cyber security, inspiring learners to achieve their full potential through current, real‑world practice.
  • Inclusive & Supportive Practice – Plan adaptive lessons for learners of all abilities, including SEND, while monitoring progress, providing timely feedback and implementing effective interventions.
  • Curriculum & Quality Development – Contribute to the ongoing development of a modern, industry‑aligned Computing curriculum and work collaboratively to support quality assurance and continuous improvement.
  • Professional & Statutory Responsibilities – Maintain accurate records, engage in continuous professional development and uphold safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, and health & safety requirements.
About You
  • Qualifications – Degree in Computing or a closely related subject, with a relevant academic or professional background.
  • Teaching Experience – Proven experience teaching Level 1 IT, Level 2 Information and Creative Technology, and Level 3 Extended Diploma in Computing.
  • Teaching & Communication Skills – Excellent classroom practice with the ability to plan, deliver and communicate engaging, innovative lessons.
  • Assessment & Quality Focus – Strong ability to assess learner progress, provide effective feedback and demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
  • Professional Attributes – Passionate about inspiring learners, with a collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
