Job description
Position Overview

Point of Care Testing (PoCT) staff are required to support the existing PoCT team at QEQM Hospital, Margate. The role is full‑time (Band 4) and will rotate to other East Kent acute sites, Estuary View Urgent Treatment Centre and the new Thanet Community Diagnostic Centre in Broadstairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Device maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Device evaluations and performance of internal quality control.
  • Administration of external quality assessment programmes.
  • Support the PoCT Coordinator and Biomedical Scientists in maintaining a proactive, professional and quality governance framework.
  • Provide training, advice and audit to clinical staff to ensure high quality PoCT results.
Qualifications & Requirements

Full training will be provided in PoCT device portfolio and associated IT solutions. Existing health professionals working in ward or theatre environments are encouraged to apply. Key requirements include: proficient spoken English, completion of a Disclosure and Barring Service check (and enhanced check where applicable), and compliance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 exclusions. Tier 2 visa sponsorship is available for eligible candidates.
