Job description

The Healthcare team at Hayfin (consisting of a private credit and special situations fund managing over $15B in assets) is looking to add an Investment Associate to their London office. This is an opportunity to join a lean team with a broad mandate to make credit, non-control equity, and special situations investments in healthcare companies globally. The London team focuses on North American and Western European investments and covers all subsectors within commercial stage healthcare including pharma, medical devices, diagnostics, and services.

Hayfin’s Healthcare strategy has a very flexible mandate and seeks to invest across a variety of performing and non-performing debt and debt‑like structures within the healthcare industry. They target investments from $25-250M, but they have the ability to execute significantly larger transactions.

This Associate will be joining an emerging, early‑stage fund with a high level of responsibility, excellent learning opportunities and an entrepreneurial culture.

Responsibilities

The Investment Associate will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of the investment process, including sourcing, due diligence, execution, and ongoing portfolio management. Key responsibilities include :

  • Conducting industry and company‐specific research to identify investment opportunities in the healthcare sector
  • Performing financial analysis and modeling to evaluate potential investments
  • Assisting in the preparation of investment memos and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Participating in due diligence efforts, including coordinating with external advisors and conducting on‑site visits
  • Monitoring portfolio companies, tracking performance and relevant industry trends
  • Contributing to the team's ongoing strategy development and investment decision‑making process
Requirements
  • Ideally 2-3 years of transferrable experience gained within a deal focused environment
  • e.g. Investment Banking (M&A, Leveraged Finance, Equity / Credit Research), a buyside seat within Private Credit / Equity, or from Strategy Consulting
  • Knowledge and curiosity about the healthcare industry and investment
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in financial modeling and valuation
  • Excellent research and due diligence capabilities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
  • Proven communication and presentation skills
  • A strong academic track record
