Role: Assistant Warehouse Manager

Shifts: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 5:00pm

Salary: £13.57 - £14.48 Dependent on experience and the completion of a skills test

Our client, a well-established and growing distribution business, is currently seeking a reliable and proactive Assistant Warehouse Manager to join their team within the Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain Sector.

This is a varied, customer-facing role offering a mix of warehouse operations and delivery responsibilities. Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager, you will play a key part in ensuring smooth day-to-day warehouse functions and timely deliveries across the South East and Midlands regions.

Key Responsibilities for an Assistant Warehouse Manager:
  • Ensuring vehicles are accurately loaded with the correct products prior to dispatch
  • Carrying out deliveries to regular customers across the South East and Midlands
  • Unloading products and materials at delivery locations (including self-unloading where required)
  • Leading the team in preparing and loading vehicles for next-day deliveries
  • Supporting warehouse operations during busy periods, including picking, packing, and using courier systems
  • Assisting at the trade counter, handling customer enquiries, providing product information, and organising dispatch
  • Receiving and booking in deliveries, ensuring accuracy of stock
  • Supporting stock control, warehouse movements, stock rotation, and preparation for larger deliveries
  • Acting as key holder and overseeing warehouse operations in the Warehouse Manager's absence
  • Maintaining general warehouse standards and cleanliness, including company vehicles
  • Accurately using internal systems
  • Providing occasional support to an associated business, including trade counter cover and customer deliveries
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • A full, clean driving license (maximum of 3 points)
  • Experience in warehouse operations and forklift use (Forklift not essential, training can be provided)
  • Previous driving experience within the South East region
  • Good physical fitness (role involves heavy lifting)
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A proactive, forward-thinking attitude
  • High levels of reliability and trustworthiness
