Alex House short break service for children with disabilities is seeking a special individual to be part of our management team as Assistant Home Manager.

Alex House is one of 3 Residential Overnight Breaks services in Lancashire ... possible opportunities to be part of this team don't come up often. Alex House has been graded OUTSTANDING by Ofsted at 14 consecutive inspections...meaning its in the top 5% of the registered children's homes in England!

This is a key leadership position, working closely with the Home Manager to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the home. The role involves a balance of operational and direct care responsibilities, including overseeing individual care plans, monitoring short break outcomes, and maintaining strong working relationships with external professionals. Attendance at reviews and multi-agency meetings is expected, as is contributing to wider service projects, initiatives and team development.

Deputy Managers are also expected to work collaboratively as part of the broader management team across Children's Residential Services, taking a lead on key areas of

  • A passion for working with children with disabilities and a commitment to their well-being.
  • A QCF 4 or NVQ 3 or 4 Leadership & Management in Health & Social Care or equivalent (Candidates without would be expected to complete this )
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working within Residential Children and Young People's Services or equivalent
