The Role

An exciting opportunity for a results-driven and passionate Assistant Store Manager to join a fast-paced, customer-focused jewellery store in the heart of London. You will play a key role in supporting the Store Manager to drive the store and team forward, creating a collaborative, engaging, and service-led culture centred around exceptional customer experiences. Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Shopfloor:

  • Act as a brand ambassador, providing styling advice, product education, and an authentic, personalised service.
  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience from store entry through to purchase and follow-up.
  • Build and nurture relationships with new and repeat customers, both in-store and through post-visit communication.
  • Maintain expert product knowledge, ensuring it is consistently communicated to customers and the store team.
  • Reflect the brand's core values and culture in all interactions and behaviours.
  • Identify creative ways to surprise and delight customers, exceeding expectations.
  • Ensure the shop floor consistently reflects brand and visual merchandising standards.
  • Handle customer feedback and complaints efficiently and professionally, escalating to the Store Manager when necessary.
  • Create seamless interactions between customers and in-store technology.

Team Management:

  • Lead and inspire the store team in the Store Manager's absence, ensuring smooth daily operations and effective communication with head office and senior retail leadership.
  • Support the Store Manager in motivating the team to achieve store KPIs and targets.
  • Contribute to team development by assisting with onboarding, conducting regular product and service training, and facilitating performance reviews.
  • Assist with the recruitment and selection process for new team members.
  • Address day-to-day team matters such as punctuality, grooming standards, and performance expectations, with guidance from the Store Manager as required.
  • Set a positive example by consistently following company policies and ensuring team compliance.

Operations:

  • Support stock management processes including deliveries, stock takes, audits, and inventory control.
  • Help analyse store performance and suggest actions to achieve business objectives.
  • Ensure seamless opening and closing of the store, following all operational procedures.
Key Requirements
  • Proven Assistant Store Manager or management experience (minimum 1 year) within a fast-paced, premium retail, hospitality, or customer-facing environment.
  • Sales-driven, goal-oriented, and motivated by achieving results.
  • Experienced in leading, training, and motivating high-performing retail teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a professional, customer-centric approach.
  • Able to gather and share customer feedback and insights to improve service and sales strategies.
  • Proactive, approachable, and passionate about delivering outstanding service.
  • Skilled in tailoring service to meet individual customer needs in an inclusive, welcoming environment.
  • Comfortable with digital technology and multi-channel customer interaction tools.
