A leading mental health service provider in Dawlish is looking for a Band 5 Assistant Psychologist to develop and apply psychological skills while working with patients facing various psychological challenges. The role involves psychological assessments, therapy provision, and supporting junior staff training. This position emphasizes teamwork, professional development, and a commitment to improving patient wellbeing.
This is an exciting opportunity for you to use and develop your psychological skills and experience working with men with psychological and mental difficulties and forensic histories at Langdon Hospital. As a Band 5 Assistant Psychologist you will work as part of a psychology team to provide specialist psychological interventions to the patients at Langdon Hospital and to develop your clinical and forensic assessment and therapy skills. There are opportunities to work with a range of psychological issues including trauma, psychosis and personality difficulties alongside risk issues. The service offers a range of therapeutic approaches in order to address the presenting needs of the patients.
You will be using your experience for forensic mental health settings to support the development of Assistant Psychologists within the department and will take a role in leadership on key projects within the department alongside members of the psychology team.
