Assistant Project Manager – Highways & Transport
Day rate: £300 per day Inside IR35
Contract position: 6 months
Hybrid: Mondays & Fridays on-site

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of capital projects within Highways & Transport, ensuring successful outcomes across low-to-medium complexity improvement schemes.

Role Overview – Assistant Project Manager:
  • Assist in managing the full project lifecycle for highways improvement projects.
  • Coordinate stakeholders and ensure compliance with project governance.
  • Support budget management, risk assessment, and reporting.
  • Conduct site visits and liaise with contractors and internal teams.
Essentials:
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Highways & Transport in a similar role.
  • Proven track record delivering capital projects and understanding project lifecycles.
  • Ability to drive and access to a vehicle for site visits.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
Desirables:
  • Experience with local authority projects.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and contract management.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
  • Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., APM, PRINCE2).
