Job Description

We are looking to strengthen our Project Delivery team with an Assistant Project Manager based in our Lutterworth site with hybrid working available. The role will report to our Project Manager. You will work with the Project Manager on a portfolio of projects, providing support to general duties and taking the lead on project governance, supply chain relationships, takeover, and client-facing outputs. You will support the development and continuous improvement of the project team and supply chain, aiming to deliver enhanced health, safety, quality & environmental outcomes, customer satisfaction, and commercial success.

The APM acts as the Deputy to the PM and supports the PM in liaising with the Client.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Supporting the project team to ensure all legal and industry standards impacted by the project are achieved.
  2. Ensuring H&S management arrangements and personnel are in place for the project duration.
  3. Administering the Project Management Plan and ensuring Quality Assurance is incorporated.
  4. Deploying the Business Management System.
  5. Ensuring all staff on the project are adequately trained and experienced.
  6. Understanding all aspects of the client contract and supply chain contracts.
  7. Supporting the PM & QS in supply chain notifications of potential EWN's, CE's, CI, or scope changes.
  8. Working with the PM & QS to manage project costs within allowances.
  9. Managing internal design costs with the LDE, PM, & QS.
  10. Proficiency in using the client's digital platforms.
  11. Communicating project outputs to the design and construction teams.
  12. Managing stakeholder accountability regarding programme obligations.
  13. Escalating key issues and risks with mitigation plans.
  14. Managing quality reporting and client KPIs.
  15. Driving continuous improvement against contractual KPIs.
  16. Leading project governance from a client perspective, ensuring documentation is progressed.
  17. Assisting in resource profiling of the project programme and team.
  18. Supporting the Site Manager in look-ahead and supply chain progress reporting.
  19. Representing the PM at client meetings and reporting back on issues or actions.
Candidate Requirements:

Essential: Educated to HND/HNC with vocational or transferable role-specific experience; good knowledge of H&S legislation and CDM duty holder relationships; H&S qualification (SMSTS/IOSH/NEBOSH); membership of professional bodies (e.g., APM, CMI, ICE); working towards chartered recognition; experience in delivering multi-disciplinary projects; stakeholder management skills; excellent communication; self-motivated and resilient; leadership skills; full driving license.

Desirable: Experience in water treatment plants; knowledge of digital delivery tools.
