The Role

An exciting opportunity for a Band 4 Physiotherapy Assistant position has arisen within the Medical Team at University Hospital Monklands.

  • Work under the supervision of registered physiotherapy staff to assist patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals.
  • Undertake baseline assessments within clearly defined parameters for the identified service.
  • Implement, adapt and progress treatment programmes within agreed protocols and defined parameters.
  • Use specialist technical and practical skills to deliver flexible, patient centred programmes across a variety of clinical settings.
  • Discharge or transition care within agreed protocols and defined parameters.

What we'll need you to bring
  • Formal qualification at HNC Level or equivalent level of experience in a health / education / social care environment plus short specialist courses relevant to specific clinical area.
  • Awareness of health legislation relevant to the clinical area.
  • Knowledge of the clinical speciality/area process, techniques and / or activities relevant to client group.
  • Ability to apply a range of technical and practical skills.
  • Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Time management, planning and organisational skills.
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology.
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team
  • Ability to learn and develop new skills and maintain a record of learning.

Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in Physiotherapy department within University Hospital Monklands.
