Job description
Overview

We are looking for enthusiastic, committed, dynamic individuals to join our team at Manchester Foundation Trust Wythenshawe Hospital who will rotate between sites to provide Cardiac Diagnostic Services both in a large tertiary centre and the community setting.

The department offers a full spectrum of invasive and non-invasive cardiac diagnostic investigations and is committed to developing staff and actively developing new roles for service provision.

Main duties of the job
  • Under direction assist qualified Cardiac Physiologists to perform all aspects of non-invasive cardiac diagnostic services and to provide some aspects in the community.
  • To undertake a range of duties which involve direct patient care as directed by healthcare professionals.
  • To be aware of and assist in meeting the psychological, social, physical and spiritual needs of all patients.
  • Discuss with patients issues relevant to their diagnostic investigations.
  • Actively participate in the diagnostic investigations which form part of the patient’s care and treatment plan written by healthcare professionals.
  • To develop new skills so as to enhance patient diagnosis.
  • Practices a range of non-invasive cardiac procedures & performs first-line interpretations.
  • Recording & first-line reporting of resting ECG.
  • Multi-modality cardiac arrhythmia monitoring hook-up.
  • Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring hook-up.
  • Patient preparation & physiological monitoring during cardiac & cardiorespiratory exercise tests.
  • Assist in Linq implants and communication with patient around remote monitoring.
  • Maintain accurate written patient records.
  • Contribute towards the maintenance of local and Trust-wide standard of care.
  • To undertake and assist in the organisation of the day-to-day running of service.
  • Contribute towards ongoing quality of service and care, identifying any risk issues in relation to the patients’ health and social care.
