A prominent healthcare provider in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking an assistant in paediatric audiology to support high-quality care. Qualifications

  • Previous experience of working with pre-school children.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in paediatric audiological assessment and rehabilitation.
  • Ensure patient preparation for audiologist procedures.
  • Meet and greet patients and escort them to the clinic room.
  • Lead hearing aid repair clinics for adults and children.
  • Perform calibration checks of audiological equipment.
  • Report equipment faults as per local procedure.
  • Maintain infection control and a clean environment.
  • Record patient results following local protocol.

Job description
Overview

Based in the Hearing and Balance Centre at Royal Stoke Hospital, your role will involve supporting the team to provide high quality care by preparing and delivering paediatric audiology clinics, involving both clinical and administrative tasks. It is anticipated that training will be required in order to fulfil the role successfully and this will be provided both in house and externally. A candidate with an eagerness to pursue an apprenticeship would therefore be ideally suited to this post.

Job responsibilities

Key Areas/Tasks

  • To perform the role of assistant in paediatric audiological assessment and rehabilitation, by actively engaging with children to support successful outcomes.
  • Be responsible for ensuring appropriate patient preparation for the audiologist to perform audiological procedures
  • Meet and greet patients and families and escort them to the clinic room.
  • Lead hearing aid repair clinics for both adults and children
  • Be responsible alongside the audiologist for stage A daily calibration checks of audiological equipment
  • Be responsible for reporting any equipment faults or damage as per local procedure
  • Take responsibility for infection control within department protocols and maintain a clean, safe, tidy environment throughout the area, adhering to trust environmental audit and departmental processes.
  • Ensure clear, concise recording of patient results and/or outcomes, following local protocol
