Overview

We currently have a job opportunity for an Assistant Market Officer within the Council's Markets Service. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and well organised individual to work as part of a dynamic team, assisting in the operation of Tameside Markets. Areas of responsibility will include Ashton Market Hall, Hyde Market Hall, Ashton Outdoor Market, Hyde Outdoor Market, and a number of temporary markets and events that take place within the borough. The post involves Saturday and Sunday working with paid enhancements.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the operation of Tameside Markets across Ashton Market Hall, Hyde Market Hall, Ashton Outdoor Market, Hyde Outdoor Market, and related temporary markets and events.
  • Work as part of a dynamic team to support market operations and customer service within a busy market environment.
Qualifications
  • You must demonstrate a flexible approach to work loads, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with the ability to deal with a challenging role within a busy market environment.
