Job summary

Qualifications

The Vacancy

Here at NCHA we have a fantastic opportunity for the right person to join our friendly and supportive Young Person’s Service in Newark. Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people? Do you have the skills and experience to empower them on their journey to independence? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! Branching Out supports young people aged 16-21 in Newark. You will develop and manage the team to support the young people so that they achieve their full potential.

This busy and dynamic service based in Newark provides support to encourage our young people to be the best version of themselves. Our project’s offers a strengths-based support service which aims to build the skills, confidence and independence of the young people who come through our doors.

Our team play a critical role in advocating for our tenants. From liaising with agencies to help them access permanent accommodation to supporting them to access education or employment training.

Responsibilities
  • Recruiting, selecting and inducting new colleagues
  • Managing performance through supervisions, development plans and CLEAR conversations
  • Managing work place health and safety risk assessments and practices in line with regulations
  • Meeting statutory and organisational quality requirements and regulations
  • Develop, monitor and meet designated cost centre income and expenditure targets
  • Contribute to wider organisational development initiatives to develop and improve services
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Work in partnership with other organisations
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Our ideal candidate will hold a minimum Level 2 NVQ, Diploma, or Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care (or an equivalent relevant qualification), and will be committed to achieving a Level 3 qualification while in post.
  • You will bring demonstrable and comprehensive knowledge of issues relevant to young people, and a strong passion for supporting them reach their full potential.
  • You will be passionate about supporting young people to meet their full potential. You will be able to motivate the team, empowering them to achieve great things across the service. When things don\'t go to plan; you will need to be resilient and have the character to bounce back. You will have a sense of humour and compassion; clearly demonstrating our organisations’ values of Caring, Learning, Enthusiastic, Accountable and Resilient.
  • Having a ‘can do’ attitude and the right values, you will be able to work in a way to ensure support is delivered in the most compassionate and empowering way. You will have strong communication skills to not only work effectively and efficiently with your team and the service users but also to actively build relationships with key support agencies.
  • You will be a car driver and have access to a car.
Working Hours

37 hours a week. You will be required to work on a rota basis, 365 days per year (weekends and bank holidays included). Rotas are planned as reasonably in advance as possible so you can make time for your other commitments. Shifts operate from 7am – 2.30pm or 2.30pm – 10.00pm.
