Are you committed and passionate about SEN Education? We are looking for the next school leader to join our established team. This is a real opportunity to make a difference for the children that we teach. This role combines strategic development with operational delivery.
Sutherland House School is a non-maintained special school for autistic children and young people aged 3-19. The school is in the heart of the Creative Quarter in the City Centre located near the Sneinton Avenues market area.

We offer small class groups, high staffing ratios and excellent opportunities for training and continued professional development.
As a member of the school leadership team, you will play a critical role in translating its vision into clear objectives that promote and sustain measurable school development; ensuring that the school continuously improves and is aspirational for our students.
You will have the opportunity to work in collaboration with the School Governing Body, Board of Trustees and Autism East Midlands Senior Management Team.
You will have responsibility for the defined area of the school which will be decided following appointment. You will also receive designated safeguarding lead training to act as a deputy safeguarding lead alongside the designated safeguarding lead.
Previous experience with autistic children and young people or teaching in an additional needs environment at any age is desirable but full training and support will be given. We also welcome applications from colleagues who have experience of teaching core subjects.
