A prominent children's charity in the UK seeks an experienced Assistant Head of Service to lead its HR team. This maternity cover role involves managing HR Business Partners and delivering strategic support aligned with the Workforce Strategy. The ideal candidate will have strong Business Partnering and Employee Relations skills along with a passion for improving workplace culture. We have an exciting new opportunity available for an experienced HR manager to join our HR team as our new Assistant Head of Service (Business Partnering and Organisational Development). This is a maternity cover role for 12 months.
Reporting to our Head of HR, you will manage a team of experienced and passionate HR Business Partners, Organisational Development, Equal Pay Programme and Trust 2026 / 2026 whilst partnering the Trust Directors.
You will be a key member of the HR team and be responsible for the operational delivery of services which underpin effective management, progression of cases and change programmes through our HR policies and procedures.
You will proactively seek new opportunities to build relationships and provide professional advice to stakeholders in a blended way, both face to face and digital. You will work in a fast-paced environment providing value-added strategic support to operations in line with the Workforce Strategy and overall business objectives.
This is a hybrid role based in Birmingham so you must reside within a suitable commutable distance around Birmingham and have the correct right‑to‑work documents to work in the UK.
