Job description

Assistant Grower | North Yorkshire
£30,000 -£35,000

Ever dreamed of taking your growing skills to the next level in a supportive and dynamic environment?

Picture this.
You're already working in commercial horticulture and enjoy being hands-on with crops.

But what if you could do this while working closely with a Growing Manager who values your input, in a role where your passion for growing can shine even brighter?

What you'll be doing
As the Assistant Grower, you will be the number two to the Growing Manager, helping to grow crops across 14 hectares in line with customer requirements.

You'll focus on optimising production yields and quality levels, ensuring everything is on track within budgeted costs.

You'll monitor pest and disease management, oversee irrigation, and maintain health and safety standards.

Working with the Operations team, you'll ensure top-quality produce is delivered to both internal and external customers.

You'll also get to be part of a wider team that meets regularly to share best practices and tackle any challenges together, creating a culture of continuous improvement.

What do you need?
You'll need experience in a commercial horticultural setting, with knowledge of crop standards, pest and disease management, and a passion for delivering great results.

Experience in protected cropping would be ideal, but we're more interested in your drive to learn and grow. Supervisor training or experience running a team will also come in handy.
