Assistant Floor Manager / Restaurant Manager – Ref: SF43763

A vibrant Japanese style restaurant in central London is seeking an Assistant Floor Manager / Restaurant Manager who will be responsible for managing the daily operations.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the customers’ dining experience is fulfilling, pleasant and memorable by comprehensive operation control including Front of House tasks, cash handling, general reporting, and identifying/rectifying operational issues.
  • Understand and implement the concepts fully by setting a good example and leading the team effectively.
  • Possess or develop an understanding of Japanese culture; some Japanese language skills would be advantageous.
  • Work as permanent, full-time staff with shift-based hours in central London.
  • Manage daily store operations and lead a team during a shift as a sole manager if required.
Key Tasks
  • Identify points for improvement and implement changes through strategic planning, systemisation, and result reviews; apply further measures as needed.
  • HR management including hiring, training, monitoring and evaluation; schedule/shift management and staff level control per hour and line.
  • Quality management of ingredients/products and cost control; understand and manage ingredients and drinks.
  • Store equipment and supply management; ensure adequate stock and maintenance.
  • Provide effective reporting to and discussions with line managers and relevant departments.
Requirements
  • Experience and skills in restaurant management at a senior supervisor level (minimum).
  • Ability to manage store operations as the sole manager through a shift.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to perform administrative duties such as reporting, stock counting and cost calculation using PC software (e.g., MS Office).
  • Experience/knowledge/interest in Japanese cuisine or culture is a plus but not required.
