About The Role

We are looking for a hands‑on and motivated Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to support the Food & Beverage Manager in delivering an exceptional F&B operation at The Derby London City. This role plays a key part in leading the day‑to‑day operation across our restaurant, bar, café and events spaces, ensuring high standards of service, quality, and guest experience. You will help prepare the team for launch and then support the smooth running of the operation from day one, acting as a visible leader on the floor and a trusted support to the wider F&B team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Food & Beverage Manager in the daily leadership and coordination of all F&B outlets.
  • Act as a hands‑on leader, leading by example and maintaining a strong presence on the floor.
  • Assist with team training, development, and daily briefings to ensure readiness and engagement.
  • Ensure brand standards, service expectations, and operational procedures are consistently followed.
  • Handle guest feedback and complaints professionally, supporting service recovery and team coaching.
  • Support rota planning, staffing levels, and effective resource deployment.
  • Assist with stock control, beverage GP, wastage reduction, and cost management.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, Allergens, and Licensing requirements.
  • Support revenue‑driving initiatives, promotions, and quality score improvement across all outlets.
