Job summary

A leading UK educational institution in Norwich is looking for an Assistant Equine Centre Manager. This role involves managing daily operations, ensuring equine welfare, and supporting commercial activities and events. Candidates should have BHS Stage 3 or equivalent and relevant industry experience. The position is full-time, requiring weekend and holiday work.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of BHS Stage 3 Complete (or equivalent) and recent, relevant industry experience.
  • Relevant industry experience and experience running commercial events across a range of disciplines.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation and experience supervising teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operational activities of the Equine Centre to ensure high standards of equine welfare.
  • Plan and ensure high-quality delivery of riding sessions and practical sessions.
  • Assist with horse husbandry and health monitoring to maintain welfare standards.
  • Support commercial activities by helping clients with events and development.
  • Communicate effectively in a team environment while understanding relevant legislation.

Overview

Assistant Equine Centre Manager

Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Salary: £27,151 - £28,976 per annum

An opportunity has arisen to join the Easton College Equine Centre as the Assistant Equine Centre Manager. This is an exciting time to join the Animal and Equine department as we continue to develop the resources, curriculum and commercial offer.

This role will be required to work weekends, bank holidays and during college holidays.

As a College we are required to undertake various Safer Recruitment checks as set out within the guidance from the Department for Education Keeping Child Safe in Education. We require all staff to undertake an enhanced Adult and Child Workforce DBS Check and to register with the DBS Update Service. Please note: From 28 November 2020 the government implemented changes to the filtering rules, and we have been instructed that we cannot accept any update service checks on DBS certificates that have been issued before this date. Therefore, a new one must be completed with City College Norwich

Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily operational activities of the Equine Centre and maintain high standards of equine welfare by implementing relevant organisational plans and procedures.
  • Plan for the delivery of duties and riding sessions and ensure technicians deliver practical sessions to the highest standard.
  • Assist with horse husbandry, record keeping and health monitoring to ensure horses are cared for to the highest welfare and industry standards.
  • Support Equine commercial activity by helping clients run successful events and developing the in-house events offer with leaners at the centre.
  • Communicate effectively as a genuine team worker in a flexible and busy environment, with an understanding of relevant legislation and supervising teams.
