Job Title: Assistant Drainage Engineer
Location: Based near Glasgow
Salary: £28,000 - £33,000
Responsibilities
- Undertake roles in hydraulic modelling, flood risk, flood estimation, and drainage strategy
- Contribute toward a variety of residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments across Scotland and further afield, for public and private sector clients
- Complete flood risk assessments, flood risk reports, flood estimation, and surface water management plans
- Design drainage strategies and Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)
- Work on designing access roads
- Utilise a variety of design software packages, including Civils 3D, Causeway PDS, InfoDrainage, and AutoCAD
Required qualifications and experience
- Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or Hydrology (or similar, relevant discipline)
- Demonstrable experience of working in a UK consultancy or local authority setting, specifically in a design-based role
- Extensive experience producing flood risk assessments, flood risk reports, drainage strategies, and drainage design using appropriate design software
- Highly proficient in the use of Civils 3D, InfoDrainage, and Causeway Flow
Desirable skills and experience
- Reside locally, with good knowledge of the region and its characteristics
- Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
