Job description

Working within the Safran UK purchasing team, the Assistant Buyer will conduct purchasing activities to support the P2P (Purchase to Pay) process. This includes processing purchase requisitions, obtaining quotes from suppliers, vendor onboarding for individual sites, and supporting invoice queries (when purchasing responsibility). The Assistant Buyer will work collaboratively within the Purchasing Team to provide excellent administration support to the Buyers and wider team.

  • Administration support including but not restricted to; invoice queries, purchase order processing, and expediting.
  • Keep purchase data up to date in the ERP and support end users on day-to-day SAP queries.
  • Manage the implementation process for onboarding new suppliers.
  • Obtain quotations from suppliers; conduct smaller RFQs; look for savings opportunities; follow basic contracting processes.
  • Demonstrate a positive mindset with a willingness to learn purchasing methodologies and processes.
  • Be organized and structured in your approach.
  • Possess strong numerical skills.
  • Be focused and task-oriented, with resilience to complete tasks in full.
  • Show demonstrable problem-solving skills.
