The Role

We’re looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team in Manchester. This role is primarily responsible for the timely processing and reconciliation of company credit card expense claims, alongside supporting month-end journals and management accounts preparation.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a part-qualified finance professional who wants hands-on exposure in a fast-paced retail environment and to build strong core accounting experience.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Reviewing and processing company credit card expense claims, ensuring timely submission and following up on outstanding items
• Providing ongoing support and guidance to colleagues using the expense management system
• Reconciling balance sheets related to company credit cards
• Reconciling credit card and web expenses to the approval system
• Allocating and posting FCM travel costs, ensuring accurate reconciliation of nominal code 1239 against supplier statements
• Preparing a variety of financial reports to support business operations
• Providing general support to the Accounting team across financial processes and administrative tasks
• Assisting with internal and external audits, responding to queries and supporting compliance
