A well-known brand in accounting is seeking an Assistant Accountant to support their accounting processes in Chorley. The successful candidate will prepare management accounts, analyze costs, and handle VAT returns. This role is ideal for an experienced Accountant seeking to advance or a finance graduate with relevant experience.   • Prepare and review monthly management accounts.

  • Reconcile intercompany balances and balance sheets.

Our exclusive client based in Chorley are currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join their team.This is a new role due to company restructure and internal promotion. The primary responsibility of the position is to assist with the accounting processes to ensure deadlines are met in a timely manner.

Duties Include

  • Preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts
  • Analysing key costs for the business and individual cost centers
  • Reporting on variances, focusing on spending and process improvements
  • Working closely with purchase ledger to accurately record accruals and prepayments
  • Reconciling intercompany balances
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparation of VAT returns
  • Report and review monthly spending trends
  • Adhoc project analysis

The client will consider candidates from various background for this role either an experience Assistant Accountant wanting to take the next step up, or a first time mover from practice who is looking for their first role within industry or a finance graduate who has accounting experience of this level.
