Job description

Were expanding our Asset Assurance capability and building a new dedicated team to power the Great Grid Upgrade. This is more than a job; it's a chance to play a vital role in the UK's journey to net zero by ensuring our engineering designs and quality standards are as sustainable, safe and effective as possible.

You’ll join the Asset Engineering Assurance team who are responsible for assuring the quality of engineering work completed on all the assets on the high voltage electricity network across England and Wales. Enabling a multi‑billion pound capital plan to be technically assured resilient against cyber threats and enabling net zero.

As Asset Engineering Assurance Manager – Protection you will lead and develop a team of technical and equipment specialists that provides expert engineering input and assurance for protection at all relevant stages of the investment process to ensure the delivered solutions meet the expected standards and specifications. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that the relevant engineering standards, policies and processes are aligned with the Asset Management Strategy regulatory requirements and industry benchmarks.

About you
  • Protection and control experience across electricity transmission networks
  • Excellent people leader skills building a team to circulate 10–12 reports
  • Proven change management, risk management and project management experience
  • Experience of UK power industry standards, structures, policies, regulations and market fundamentals
