Job description

Our client is a UKAS accredited and nationally recognised company within the asbestos industry. They are now recruiting for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Asbestos Trainer based in or around the Basildon area. The ideal applicant will demonstrate expert knowledge and experience delivering asbestos training to clients of all professional levels. The successful candidate will hold the P402/3/4/5 certificates and will ideally hold the CCP/Assessor qualification and possess technical experience in both the removals and analytical sides of the asbestos industry. Applications from Southend‑on‑Sea, Billericay, Stanford‑le‑Hope, Grays, Chelmsford, Brentwood and the surrounding area.

Qualifications & Experience

• The successful candidate will hold a combination of the P402/3/4/5 and W504 asbestos certificates and will ideally hold the CCP/Assessor qualifications.
• Must have significant experience carrying out asbestos audits on a variety of site types.
• Will come from a strong technical and training background within the asbestos industry.
• Will have previous experience delivering external and internal training courses.
• Must be fully conversant in relevant health & safety policies, procedures and guidelines relating to asbestos.
• Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
• Competent with the Microsoft Office package.
• We are also interested in anyone with p401, p402, p403, p404, s301 or CCP qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for delivery of a portfolio of UKATA and BOHS approved asbestos-related training courses.
• Contributing to design of courses – content and structure and strategising how courses will be delivered.
• Carrying out asbestos audits on a variety of site types ensuring compliance with all relevant and asbestos‑related health & safety guidelines.
• Ensuring that existing courses are updated in line with legislative changes.
• Overseeing and reviewing trainers to ensure they are up to date on current legislation.
• Training and auditing new trainers.
