Job description

Our client is a major player within the asbestos industry, delivering specialist asbestos duties to a varied client base. This company is looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Asbestos Consultant based in and around the Wakefield area. The ideal applicant will hold the P402/3/4/5 certificates and will be experienced in carrying out a range of site audits and post-work inspections as well as project management duties. Applications from Leeds, Barnsley, Bradford, Pontefract and the surrounding areas will be considered.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Must have a good educational background.
  • Must have attained the P402/P403/P404/P405 or the equivalent RSPH qualification.
  • Extensive experience working in this role within the asbestos industry, preferably a UKAS accredited organisation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in using the Microsoft Office Package.
  • Must hold a full, clean driving licence.
  • We are also interested in anyone with p401/p402/p403/p404/p404 or s301 CCP.
Responsibilities of the Role
  • Have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attend pre-start site meetings, site audits and post work inspections.
  • Carry out asbestos training where required.
  • Ensure that the work completed is to the clients specifications.
  • Review and sign off amendments and maintain all relevant documentation, reports, surveys etc.
  • Carrying out asbestos management, refurbishment and demolition surveys on various properties.
  • Working alongside other departments to co‑ordinate projects.
  • Taking asbestos samples and sending to laboratory for analysis.
  • Overseeing contractors to ensure work carried out is in accordance with asbestos Health & Safety procedures.
  • Ensuring work is carried out effectively and within time line.

  • Overall, the successful candidate will demonstrate a can‑do attitude and adaptable approach to their work. Prospective candidates must also be prepared to travel as per the clients requirements.
