Job description
Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Army Safety Group for the SEO Policy (SHEF). This unique role is responsible for providing competent advice to Chief Environmental & Safety Officer on Safety and Environmental Management System matters across the Army. Supporting the Assistant Head Safety, you will support policy implementation, audit and assurance, and proactively liaises with the Defence Safety Authority, Health and Safety Executive, and Trade Unions to continually improve Army Safety.

Responsibilities
  • The overarching purpose of this role is to ensure the Head Safety is supported in their delivery to meet objectives set by Defence.
  • Maintain the currency of the Army Force Protection (SHEF) Framework.
  • Liaise with Army Commands and internal MOD bodies including CEE, DDS, and DSA regulators. Ensuring Safety Advice Notices are promulgated through the Chain of Command as the ASG (Army Safety Group) Functional Safety POC (Point of contact).
  • Provide general safety advice and guidance supported by WO (Warrant Officer) Safety and in support of CESO (Chief Environmental and Safety Officer) (Army).
  • Provide Environmental Protection advice and guidance supported by HEO EP (Higher Executive Officer Environmental Protection).
  • Provide support to the Fire Safety Group Manager.
  • Represent the Army Safety Group at Army and MoD committees for Force Protection (SHEF) issues as directed.
