Area Sales Manager – Scaffolding

Job Title: Area Sales Manager – Scaffolding

Location: South West (M5 corridor South of Bristol), Bath, Somerset

Contract: Permanent, Full Time

Remuneration: £30,000-£40,000 + £8,000 uncapped Bonus
Benefits: Audi A3 Plug‑In Hybrid and comprehensive benefits package

Responsibilities:

  • Field sales position selling scaffolding, fencing, groundworks, edge protection, safety and light access products.
  • Sell into main contractors, civils contractors, ground workers, housebuilders and utility contractors.
  • 4 days a week on the road, typically 8 calls per day, 1 day working from our clients’ Bristol office.
  • Targeted to achieve £400 per week of hire and £20,000 of sales per week.
  • Work as part of a 2‑person field sales team from Bristol depot.
  • New business development: follow up on leads from the depot, LinkedIn and Glenigan’s leads.
  • Initially shadow an experienced Regional Sales Manager (first 2‑3 months).

Qualifications / Ideal Applicant:

  • Construction field sales experience, selling into any types of contractors.
  • Contacts within main contractors, civils contractors, ground workers, housebuilders and utility contractors advantageous.
  • Comfortable with site visits.
  • Open to hire and sales backgrounds; open in terms of what you have sold.
  • Curious, entrepreneurial approach, proactive, open‑minded, motivated.
  • Confident, articulate, hard‑working, resilient.
  • Understand pricing strategy.
  • Ability to get into Bristol depot one day per week.
