Job summary

A leading recruitment firm is seeking an Area Sales Engineer for the industrial electrical sector in the UK. This role involves managing sales across the Western/M6 region, enhancing existing accounts, and developing new business opportunities. The ideal candidate has a strong technical sales background in electrical products, coupled with an Engineering qualification. Attractive compensation package including a base salary around £55K, £15K bonus, and additional benefits. Home-based/Field-based position with travel involved.

Job Overview

Our Client, a leading global manufacturer of high quality connection solutions for the industrial electrical sector, has a global presence, full in‑house design, manufacture and materials control, and a market‑leading product and a customer‑focused approach to providing a solution.

Responsibilities
  • Manage sales territory across the Western/M6 corridor Region of England, including Lancashire to Swindon and Wales.
  • Build upon existing accounts and develop new business opportunities across the industrial sector.
  • Maintain and further develop relationships with distribution partners, OEMs, system integrators, panel builders, distributors and wholesale resellers.
  • Sell the Company’s full portfolio of industrial electrical connection solutions, control stations and ATEX products to end users and contractors.
  • Identify suitable projects and industry‑sector targets, achieve specification or preferred supplier status, interact with consultants, major contractors and follow through to order stage.
Qualifications
  • Current experience within the Electrical Industrial sector as an Area Sales Engineer, Field Sales, Area Sales Manager, Sales Representative or Business Development Manager.
  • Strong technical sales background with proven success selling electrical products and components, preferably for a niche manufacturer.
  • Electrical/Electronic Engineering discipline or equivalent technical experience with controls industry and component knowledge.
  • Commercial flair and ability to engage consultants, major contractors and drive projects to order.
