Area Sales Engineer – Industrial Electrical Control & Automation

We have an opportunity for an experienced Area Sales Engineer/Area Sales Manager in the Electrical Control and Automation industry to join a first-class business. The successful candidate will sell high‑quality Industrial Automation products (PLC, Control Gear, Switchgear & Circuit Protection, Variable Speed Drives, Sensors, HMI, Process Instrumentation) to OEM, End User, System Integrator and Panel Builder markets across South Tyneside/Teeside, Middlesbrough, Stockton on Tees, Darlington, Hartlepool, South of the Tyne and Sunderland.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and develop a portfolio of accounts while identifying new business opportunities.
  • Manage defined sales targets and develop a personal plan to achieve objectives.
  • Provide technical sales support and maintain high levels of product knowledge.
  • Operate effectively within an autonomous environment while being a team player.
  • Use Microsoft Office packages to manage sales information.
Qualifications
  • Proven track record as a business developer and sales engineer in the Industrial Automation industry.
  • Formal qualification in Electrical/Electronic discipline (HND/ONC or above) desirable but not essential.
  • Experience with PLC, control gear, switchgear, variable speed drives, sensors, HMIs and instrumentation.
  • Strong organisational, communication and technical selling skills.
  • Desire for continuous career development and enhanced sales skills.
  • Capability with Microsoft Office packages.
