A technology apprenticeship provider is looking for an Apprentice Software Tester in Birmingham or Liverpool. The role involves supporting software testing and development, offering hands-on experience with the software development lifecycle. Ideal candidates are enthusiastic about technology, have good analytical skills, and are eligible for the UK Government apprenticeship programme. This apprenticeship also offers training towards a Level 4 qualification.
Please note that this is an apprenticeship position and therefore anyone with more than six months professional experience working as a software tester or who holds an ISTQB foundation certificate will not be eligible.
You will also need to commit to completing a Level 4 Software Testing Apprenticeship.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Apprentice Software Tester will support the development and software testing team in ensuring that software products meet functional, performance, security, and usability requirements. This role offers hands-on experience across the software development lifecycle, with a focus on quality assurance and testing practices. The apprentice will work collaboratively with developers, analysts, and stakeholders while undertaking structured learning through the Apprenticeship Scheme.

Salary:£22K Dependent upon candidate experience
Working week:40 hours Monday-Friday
Location:this role could be located in either Birmingham or Liverpool
Hybrid working - this is to be agreed with the line manager and will vary depending on the business needs so it is anticipated that the successful candidate will live within a 1hr commute of either of the locations.
Apprenticeship Training to be provided:
As part of the Level 4 Software Tester apprenticeship standard, you’ll be registered as a member with the British Computer Society and be on a fast track to an industry recognised qualification and your dedicated industry coach will support you through a blended approach that will include remote, in person, 1-2-1 and group learning.
