Overview

We are currently looking for enthusiastic and passionate Ambulance Care Assistants to transport our patients, who are frail or need specialist assistance, to and from appointments at hospitals, treatment centres and other similar facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Convey and care for patients who have been appropriately allocated within the protocols of the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust. This includes acute, urgent and routine patients.
  • Work in a team of two, or on your own, undertaking duties in a variety of vehicle types.
  • Every day is different as an ACA and you could really make a difference to our patients.
Training and Requirements
  • 3 week paid training course. You would need to be available to attend a training on a full time basis over a period of 15 working days.
  • Clinically trained to standards that allow you to be competent as a “First Person on Scene”, patient transport driver training, and a full uniform.
  • During the training course it is your responsibility to attend in full on each day. Accommodation and travel expenses will not be provided.
  • You MUST be able to commit to undertaking the training course as outlined above.
  • Travel costs to venues will need to be considered; examples include Welwyn Garden City and Chelmsford.
  • Pre-employment checks will be required prior to any unconditional offer. If full employment checks cannot be achieved, the offer may be withdrawn.

You will be working to provide 24 hour, 365 days a year urgent care to those in need of emergency and non-emergency medical treatment and transport in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.
