Overview

You're a seasoned poultry industry professional with a passion for influencing the future of the sector. This is an opportunity to build long-term consultative relationships with independent farmers on behalf of a leading poultry supply chain business. The role will place you at the heart of an evolving poultry supply chain. The company is expanding and is in the process of acquiring multiple additional farms.

As Agriculture Relationship Manager, you’ll be the key link between the business and its independent broiler growers. Your mission will be twofold:

  • Retain and support the existing grower base through proactive relationship management.
  • Expand the network by identifying and onboarding new and established growers aligned with the company’s growth plans.

Another core function of the role will be to gather and disseminate market insight up, down and across the company. You’ll work closely with farmers, commercial colleagues, and operational teams to ensure high performance, loyalty, and sustainable growth across key UK regions.

Key responsibilities
  • Conduct regular farm visits, grower meetings and social events.
  • Gather market insights and present both internally (including at board level) and externally.
  • Collaborate closely across the farming team and fulfil a knowledge exchange function.
  • Optimise grower retention and attraction.
  • Conduct performance reviews and implement outcomes.
  • Negotiate and manage grower contracts and new shed developments.
  • Identify and attract new growers, including those supplying other processors or entering the market.
  • Provide guidance to new entrants on farm development and broiler production.
  • Maintain a database of market activity and grower contacts.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to share best practices and meet collective goals.
Your profile
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the UK and regional broiler markets is essential.
  • Proven success at relationship management within the agricultural sector.
  • Ability to build strong relationships based on integrity, trust, and respected financial/ budgetary judgement.
  • Commercial and negotiation skills around agreeing financial terms and contracts.
  • Readiness to travel and work away from home as and when required.
  • Extensive regional contacts within the wider poultry industry, with strong networking skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
